Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore (formerly, University of Indore) was established in 1964 by an Act of Legislature of Madhya Pradesh. The University is supported by the State Government and the University Grant Commission, New Delhi. The University has been incorporated in the Commonwealth Year Book (Volume 3, pp1740-42, 1990). It has been bestowed with the Centre of Excellence award by the Govt. of Madhya Pradesh. Recently, the University has been awarded “Centre of Excellence” in e-Management by UGC.
Message From Dr. Sudhira Chandel, HEAD
Games and sports are essential components of a well-rounded education and contribute significantly to an individual's overall well-being. They teach invaluable life skills such as teamwork, discipline, resilience, and time management. Moreover, engaging in sports and physical activities promotes a healthy lifestyle, improves mental well-being, and fosters social connections. At directorate of physical education and sports we are dedicated to nurture our student- athletes talents and fostering a supportive, inclusive environment. Our future plans include expanding the range of sports and activities offered at DAVV, enhancing our sports facilities, and motivate more students to participant in local/national tournaments.
Furthermore, we aim to strengthen our partnerships with national sports organizations and other educational institutions to offer our students more opportunities for competition and personal growth. Together, we can create a thriving sports culture that not only fosters excellence but also instills a love for physical activity in the hearts of our students. I am thrilled to be a part of this journey and look forward to the achievements and successes that await us.
